Is Kumantong real?
« on: July 11, 2013, 01:39:02 AM »
Heard that Kumantong is the Thai version of Chinese Kwee Kia or Malay Toyol.

I have read online that people keep these spirits to help with wealth/riches or relationships. Many seek winning 4D numbers from these spirits. Although keeping one is like taking care of a real child and candies/chocolates and food have to be fed to the Kumantong every day. If the owner has good intentions, the Kumantong will be a benign one and bless the owner with smooth sailing in life. If owner is bad, the Kumantong will sense it and become evil itself.

Does such things really exist?

Play w things you can see ok liao. Leave those super natural beings to Thor, Green Lantern etc etc Personnally nothing comes free.. You always ends up selling your soul to them for some materialistic stuff.

If you think it exists, it exists. If you think not, it does not exists. For more history about Gumanthong (female version is called Gumareethong), you can read about the lineages between Khun Paen and him. What I have heard is, if one does not take good care of Gumanthong properly, his soul will leave you and not bless you with wealth and protection anymore. But, I have not heard before that he will become evil. Cheeky probably but definitely not evil. Well, the logic is that if Gumanthong is meant for evil purposes, I guess the monks will not bother consecrating the amulets. There are many famous monks making Gumanthongs like Luang Phor Tae (Wat Sam Ngan) and Luang Phor Gloy (Wat Pukalthong) etc. Just saying. :)
