Tot of googling but think I consult the forumers first... anyone knows the exact dates for vacation planning? Wanna book early to avoid the travel crunch as Silkair tickets might be sold out closer to the date.

Silkair is good BUT only limited days they flying to CNX. I suggest you fly with Thai airways and their price is not bad. Normally I will take open air ticket 6 month, so in anycase, just make some arrangement if I were to change my flight date within 6 month. Never had Songkran in CNX before, but I assume should be SANOOK compare to Krung Thep which I had 3 years conservative!

For those like to go to chiangmai next year, Air Asia is available for return trip. Direct flight from singapore, at low price. Check for price in CNY week, ticket as low as 140sgd return. The only thing you have to endure 3 hrs plus journey from singapore to chiangmai with the noisy engine plane.

Awwwww, which airline you taking bro? Thai airways? I predicting now fare is still expensive given that, they yet to broadcast it to the public yet. I strongly believe that they will give some promotion upon launching it. Anyway, it's good to take full service flight as the journey is much more futher that Krung Thep. I'm too thinking to go to Songkran at ChiangMai. Had Songkran in Krung Thep for three years, and it's getting bored, same old routine!

Chiangmai is small city. Scared to get splashed then better stay indoors. Some high end restaurants in hotels also disallow splashing. Confirm the hot areas around the canal sure got splashing action.
I will be in Chiangrai. Visiting some friends for songkran. Got a mini Singaporean community there. Funny how some there are married to ex-GL girls. Haha... hardcore hor? 555 But a private community. So only those in the know can find them.
