Hi,
I'm new to this forum. My friend and I have been studying the host bar phenomenon for a long time, primarily by researching Japan. But it's different here in Singapore, and I wasn't aware until recently that it even existed here at all.
I would love to get into this industry as a host, but I have some questions:
1. For my part, I'm 37. I don't know if any this would work with any club. I'm tall and trim, but as a typical white guy, I surely can't compete with Thai 20-somethings for looks. What I do have is patience, calm temper, strong education, and a strong willingness to chat with women who need attention.
2. I can't sing, and I don't drink or smoke. I would be happy to sit and chat all night, and of course serve drinks to the ladies, but I'm not sure whether that would compensate.
3. How's the noise level? I don't want to work for a club that's so loud that I need to yell just to talk.
Is there any club that I would fit well into? Or frankly is this not going to fly?
I would add that I think the host club scene is better here. From my studies of Japan, it's totally theatrical, robotic, and insincere. I couldn't cut it in an environment like that; even as a paid host, I would still take genuine interest in my clients.
ima just a forum troll ... you sounds like you should open a club with that concept.
