My friend on TR2109 is on her way home this morning.
She got u-turn at airport. Escorted by ICA officials to holding room for next flight back to Bangkok.
But the issue is not with u-turn.
In fact, kudos to our strict entry regulations.
The issue is with RUDE CIVIL SERVANTS.
Good that you spotted her marital status. Married woman travelling with single man.
But WHY MUST YOU BE SO RUDE?

Couldn't you have some courtesy to treat is nicely?
It's quite common that married women travel overseas for business trips. Maybe even to spend good money at our state of the art IRs.
Maybe her husband busy or unable to travel, therefore she travelled with somebody else?
Why treat her and my friend, who is a Singaporean, like a criminal?
And even criminals deserve some respect.
Prove first that she is flouting the law.
Why evidence?
Yes Woman's Charter.
But still what false assumptions you have?
This matter won't rest easy.
See this in the newspapers and feedback soon.
I demand an apology or some explanation from the relevant authority.
U-Turn is good only if the officials have evidence. Concrete evidence.
This is bad PR cos next thing is she spreads the word through viral online forums and sites.... then that's it for our reputation.
Remember foreign visitors bring value and business to our growing economy.
She was meant to have a big spending at our IR.
And her background in Thailand is with influential persons.
I hope she makes a fuss in Bangkok Post.
The whole world must know.
