Hmmm...

I'm actually working in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima. Quiet and peaceful place i'll say... Working as a Production Manager here... No money to start business leh... lolx...

Let me know if I can help anything... meanwhile, i'll list down the stuff i already know, if i can remember...

Before even start working in Thailand, things you'll need to know:

In order to have a work permit here, you'll need to apply for Non-Immigration 'B' (for business) in Singapore Thai Embassy.

Non-Immigration 'B' visa requirements:
http://www.thaiembassy.sg/visa-matters-/-consular/visa-requirements/non-immigrant-visa-b

Having this B Visa... come to Thailand... get your documents ready for work permit requirements. (i'll post the link once I get better connection) Please check which form you'll need to fill in. Mine is WP1 version

100thb for registration to submit work permit documents for approval. waiting is about 7 working days to 14 working days. Pay 3000 thb when collecting your work permit "passbook" (it looks like a passport actually)

Doing your work permit, please check with your area DOE (Department of Employment). I'm situated in Pak Chong so I did mine at Korat... cannot do in BKK... not under their care...

yep... That's how you get your work permit done up. With the documents ready, it's not difficult actually... The difficult part is filling up the form and the documents required.

Also, please HAVE your company's ADMIN stuffs to fill up the form for you as it has to be filled up in THAI (even your name). One requirement needed for Work Permit is a medical cert, PLEASE do get your medical checkup done up at a reputable hospital like Memorial Hospital or Bangkok Hospital.

TADA~~~ that's how you get your work permit.

Work permit will be needed to:

Open a bank account
Buy yourself a transport
Enjoy the long stay in Thailand with less stress.... lolx... (but i tell you, sometimes they are too relax till you cannot take it...)

BEFORE EVEN WORKING HERE, Please do your own research and read up about their culture... Language IS a barrier... we need to bring ourselves down one level to understand how they think... that's because what we think is simple, it's different for them... It's either they do not have such things or they dont understand why you wanna do it in that way... that way, they cannot get things done for you which pissed you off... but you will realized... it's either they cannot get you what you want or there's no such thing...

Example: You want to get a soccerball... you tell your admin go buy.. she dont understand why you mention round soccerball... she tell you.. in thailand only got square soccerball... you don't quite understand... you're pissed... just go buy la... 2 weeks later, you asked for round soccerball, she tell you cannot find... you get pissed... kns.. no initiative ah..etc... In the end, your thai boss or thai friend who speaks good english explain to you... here in thailand we got square soccerball only... round one have to go Chiangmai... which is not possible... then you'll realized... Oh...

Just an example...

i know a Thai who is an English teacher in Thailand (Thai teaching English? haha) so a Sinkie can still get such a job there. An ang mo English teacher i used to know told me he can earn about 30-40K THB a month. He was teaching at a school + give tuition at his condo on weekends.

haha it's quite crazy to expect to get a good salary there as an English teacher... it's more for passing time and keeping busy while getting SOME income

I reckon any sinkie serious about staying BKK long time and sustain themselves will need to leverage from SG one way or another 555

Perhaps u should try teaching Chinese instead.....555  ;D

Well i guess its necessary to have passive income from somewhere if you intend to lead a partying lifestyle without being paid a good salary over there...I think the guy in the video did said....you can perhaps survive with 10-15k baht a month in LOS but thats on a bare minimum frugal lifestyle......... 3 meals alone is like 5k THB a month....so go figure...

Since we at this....TS don't mind if I hijack this thread a little...anyway this could be relevant to u too............can I ask all the bros here who are staying in LOS ...to perhaps share with us the lifestyle you lead there....how is it? is it like what I and perhaps many others think it is?... like you get all the women you can date...slower pace of life....being a big fish in a small pond......having perks of a hi-so expat lifestyle etc..... is it really what we think it is? Also...what is the single most reason, be it from sg or there, that will let you seriously consider giving it all up and come back sg? (Please don't say things like chicken rice although I do agree the one here is better  ;D)
