All this thai clubs which is popping out of singapore as I always say are BKK G-CLUBS modeled . G-CLUBS in Bangkok are actually thai versions of KTV in singapore only that they make it more to clubbing like . A real thai club does not need any "Cayotes" to bring in the crowd . People who frequent real Thai Clubs in BKK will know wat I mean . Juz wondering when will A Real Muse / Funky Villa club will tap into singapore with real Thai band playing wif passion not for flowers or watever . BTW most of the Real thai clubs bands does not have any female members in it and at the most 1 but yet it brings in the crowd .
I can't agree more with you as well. BUT UNFORTUNATELY, it is obvious that the Singapore market is not ready for that. I am personally all for that idea. That is because Funky Villa, Muse and, lately, Demo are the places I like. The reason why these clubs can't work here yet is because customers still go crazy over Thai songs from 5 years back. The customers have not taken the initiative to try out new Thai music and new Thai bands. There is so much more to Thai music than Rak Ter Mai Mee Wan Yood, Nam Tem Kaew and Ying Gwa Sia Jai, not to mention the Chinese Beyond anthems... And the bands in the Thai circle here keeps playing the same annoying songs that the customers like. It's just stagnant. The other reason why a Thai joint in Singapore tend to gravitate towards that of a G-Club, is because customers like having girls around, or more specifically, Thai girls. In BKK, Funky Villa already have beautiful Thai girls as customers, so there is not a need for coyotes. But in Singapore, it just wouldn't be the same. Unless you are into SG girls, PRCs, etc etc, when you go clubbing in a club with a Thai band ala Muse (BKK) or Jet. Hence, you will still require the presence of Thai coyotes and PRs. The songs the bands in BKK play are also way more enjoyable and more up to date. That makes it so much more exciting.
But anyway, I digress. Back to Moko. Moko will apparently open early when it kicks into full operation maybe next week or the week after. They intend to start from 3pm, catering to the happy hour office crowd in the area. For those looking for it, it is above Evolve Mixed Martial Arts. It faces Planet Fitness on the second floor and is very near the carpark. Not entirely sure of all the pricing details, but 1 bottle of Chivas is $220 before gst. As I am not a Martell drinker, I don't know the pricing for it but I was told it is priced similarly as Chivas. The smallest membership package is $1,888. But I think there are also other bottle promotions. Just like Muse, it is NOT a members only club. It's a club where being a member has its privileges.
